Mqx Quilt Show Pictures...

Tina and I had a great day at the Machine Quilter's Expo East in Providence, RI. The quilts were beautiful, not as many vendors though, but we did get wowed by a demo like I told you we would. Here's Tina at the vendor we always buy something from!

Here's my purchase from that shop. A pattern for machine sewing Cathedral Windows and the Purple Thang. I also bought some jumbo ric rac. I LOVE ric rac!!

There were so many wonderful quilts...I took over 100 pictures. These are my absolute favorites.

This first one is the best and we had the honor to meet Nadine who pieced and quilted it herself. I thought for sure she was a professional quilter.

We met when I commented on her beautiful sling. She broke her arm and I asked her about it. She said she made it to match the quilt she had in the show!!

Isn't it just beautiful.

Look at that quilting...I can only dream to quilt like that.

You really need to see this in person!

Anyone Going To MQX Today?...

Tina, from Seaside Stitches (my quilting partner in crime) and I made a last minute decision this week to go to The Machine Quilter's Expo this year. We usually go every year and take classes, go to the show and buy things we will never use. That last part is an inside joke, but I'm sure some of you may do the same thing. We realize we are suckers for demos. We are drawn in buy the demonstration and we usually end up buying some quilting tool, template or pattern we never use. I think last year's template and pattern I bought are still in the bag!!

Well, we are headed up this morning to the Providence show, so if anyone else is going to be there let me know here and I can get the comments on my phone!!

Quilt Show...Congratulations Tina!!!

Had a great weekend...did a lot around the house and had some fun tucked in there too! We cleared out some things that we just don't use any more and brought a car load of things to a family who could really use some help.

Moved some furniture around again...when I finish painting some things, I'll share some befores and afters!

The next three are all hers too...I'm hanging my head in quilter's shame :(   I haven't quilted in months.

This is her daughter Julia's quilt...she is a senior in high school and is an awesome person! Great quilt, Julia..I love it!!

The rest of the quilts are random shots of quilts that caught my eye...I was definitely inspired this weekend!!

Quilt Show Pictures...

MQX is a machine quilting expo that has 2 shows...one on the west coast and one on the east coast. For the past 2 years it has been held on the east coast in Providence, Rhode Island. Woo hoo for me!! Tina, from Seaside Stitches, and I have been to the show each year. We've taken classes, shopped, view the beautiful quilts and have been suckered in by too many demos!! If you are in any kind of business, do demos...they get me every time.

Here are some of the pictures I took of the wonderful quilts at the show. I can only dream of quilting like this...and even in my dreams I'm not this good!

This is a quilt of a quilt show. Amazing!! The quilt has different ladies looking at the quilts hanging up. The detail is incredible.

This is one of the mini quilts in the quilt with the ladies looking on. They have bags, purses, sandals, flip flops, tags on the quilts and even a blue ribbon winner...too cute.

Here's my wrinkly old hand for size! Just holding it up there...I didn't touch.

A mini crazy quilt.

There is even a realistic name tag with a little straight pin stitched in...such detail. You can see this name tag better in the picture with Tina in it.

This quilter even has all the fabric that she purchased at the show in 3 bags.

Back to normal size quilts...great 1930's quilt.

Great pattern and colors.

This was a super mini. Even the ribbon she won is bigger.

but I absolutely love these colors too.

and this is such a cute way to do an I Spy quilt.

Here we are on our way out after a wonderful day. Tina has a great smile and I am saying "hold the button down" to the man taking the picture. lol !!

We also met up with Diane again this year. We all met last year volunteering to hang up all the quilts for the show. Thanks Tina and Diane. I think we have a new tradition started.
